"Z28" emblem replacement... options?
My '87 IROC-Z at this point is maroon with gold accents... Not my favorite color scheme, but hey, its the car I want, with MOST of the options I wanted...
Anyhoo - At some point, the car will get repainted. I'm going a few shades lighter. I'm not 100% sure if this is the "GM" color I'm thinking about, but my dad's '00 Jimmy is a "Majestic Red Metallic" (I believe thats correct).
Something close to this:
Anyhoo - I'm wanting to know, exactly what color did the "Z28" sideskirt emblems come in? Does anyone have a picture of some of them?
I don't really care what yuear 82-92, I just want to see what's available.
What do ya guys think?
Oh yeah - Anyone know the best way to get the "Z28" emblems off the sideskirts easily?
Also, my IROC-Z wheels currently have goldish color accents. I want to get rid of them BADLY. Anyone know the easiest way to do this that will also be cost conscious(sp?)?

Looks like you've got that flat (non-metallic) maroon paint. I just had the car repainted. It's the stock metallic red/maroon that chevy used to offer. One day I'll find out what the name is.
The emblem is black, dark silver and light silver. I'm pretty sure you can find them in blue and red also. I don't remember if they are glued in or there are screws behind the sideskirt. I'm actually working on custom emblem for the skirts. Going to be red, white and blue. I just need to get a scroll saw to cut the clear plastic cover.
As for the wheels, well ... you can either polish them or buy new wheels. If you're going to sand out the gold you may as well just polish them. There are a lot of good tips on polishing on this site and you end up with what looks like chrome Iroc rims. Just do a search.
