Power Bulge Insert Gasket
Power Bulge Insert Gasket
Hello.
I have an 83 FB with a power bulge hood. I find water on my air cleaner after it rains. I think that I need a new gasket for the power bulge insert.
The GM part number is 10030132, but my dealer tells me it is discontinued.
Does anyone have any recommendations for a source OEM or otherwise?
Thanks,
Joe

That item may be hard to find........I have a 92 Bird with power bulge hood also that I made functional with the cowl induction unit......I got mine from ebay..you might want to try there first !!
Thanks for the reply chitowncruiser.
I checked at Year One. They have a part number W345 which has the description "1982-1992 hood-to-cowl seal, GM. " I don't know if this is the seal I want or is the rear hood seal (which I also need).
I'm waiting to hear back from them.
In the meantime, I was talking to the guy who installed the hood. He suggested and gave me some black caulk to seal it. The caulk comes in strips with paper on either side. It can be shaped, rolled thinner, etc.
Basically, remove the insert, apply the caulk sparingly so the excess doesn't squeeze out on the hood, and bolt back back in.
