Dash LED bulbs

Well the stock bulbs are dim, and I saw the article in the tech section about installing LED lights in the 11 dash locations. It shows using 1 or 2 LEDS and figuring out the right resistor to use. I did some searching through my digikey catalog and came across this LED

LED Mini Wedge Base color-ultra white, 12 volt, 11000 mcd for only 1.34 each in quantity of 10.

I was wondering if anyone has used this LED, the size is the same as a 168 or 194 bulb, and seeing as it is 12 volts already there would be no need for resistors, just pretty much a drop in quick solder and go.

I know a higher mcd the brighter the LED, but how bright is 11000 mcd?? They also have super blue in the same size but only 7000 mcd?? Which look better the blue or white??

Thanks
