T-Top to solid roof conversion:

Has anyone ever done this? Would the whole roof have to be replaced to do it the right way?

The only conversions I've seen are done by chopping the top of a donor t-top car, (about halfway through the a-pillar and sail panels I think,) and welding it onto your car. If done right it's indistinguishable. But it's NOT cheap, and you might have a hard time getting a shop to do it. Knight Rider conversion companies do this...

Whoops, just re-read your post, i misunderstood your intent. I imagine it would be the same to swap t-top to hard top though.

Around 9K or so, if you are just going for looks you could probably just fiberglass it, if you are going for strength, I would suggest selling the car and buying a hard top, or getting a hard top body and transfering everyting over. If you cant do the body work yourself, its going to be expensive, to convert either way.

Since i live in Mexico i had no choice than converting my hard top to a T TOP.

it was not cheap , it cost me like 2,500 dolars the conversion.

i found a wrecked car at a yard that had the t bar structure , so they cut the t top pilars and sail pannels and they weld it on the hard top car (previously cutted off)

i got a set of t tops from Canada , and the interior plastic molding trims from Florida.

also i got a set of t top wheatherstriping from ebay OEM.

the end result:

looks like a factory t top car

since im making a KARR Replica T tops was a MUST HAVE for me.

but that´s me
