I need a replacement driver's side seat for my 84 Z28 and it is impossible to locate one in california. i was wondering how difficult it is to put a newer seat into my car. any coments or suggestions would be great.

Before they get to you, there's about 50,000 members on here wo will tell you to use the SEARCH feature this board has...in fact, I've even seen some humourous little .jpg's people went out of their way to make so they could really stick it to people..but anyways...searching rocks for finding out a LOT of stuff.


To answer your question..it's easy.

 

Finding the 4th gen seats will be the hardest part of the project.
And at the rate we are installing 4th gen seats in our cars the supply may dry up.

 

I agree with that,i was thinking on doing that too a while back and i read a few treads and almost all of them said the same "82-02 camaro seats are interchangables" so go for it.Cash was the reazon i could not do tis swap
Now,i got a little problem or question so i need your answer people specially you svideo925 since you (we)got an 84 z28,and is hard 2 find owners for this model.Ok,here is the story.

My friend has a 91 z28 and he is a big guy but he fits fine inside his ride,now,he decides to drive my ride and it was kind of hard for him.Reazon was that my seats will not go all the way back like his,he barely made it inside and then his knees was touching the steering.It was kind of funny u know but then i realize that the passanger side is the same way so my question is if the tracks on our model is different than others third gens or if his is the one different than ours?

 

The seat tracks are all the same, GM did not change anything. They bought the same item for over 20yrs of production.
