Question about difference btwn a '91 GTA and '91 Formy front end facia
Well I may be picking up a '91 GTA. I hate the '91-'92 GTA's and TA's...I am more into the '87-'90's...but this one is a 74k mile 305 5 speed....and I am itching to get rid of my Thunderbird Turbo Coupe for an fbody. Anyways...I was at first thinking about swapping to the older style gfx..but then I remembered reading about having to modify the headlights, getting bumper supports, changing the lights, etc. So I figured it would be easier to just make it look like a formy...since the only thing I dont like about the '91-'92 TA's and GTA's is the side and rear gfx. IIRC the front end of a '91 GTA is different from that of a '91 Formy b/c of the gfx piece...so that would mean I would have to get rid of the whole gfx package. So will a '91 Formy front end bolt up with no problem and w/o any mods??

personally I do not think the 91-92 GTA looks too bad from the front, The formula is almost the same....
I would think that it would bolt up with minimal problems, the only thing I am not sure of is the ground fx on the front of the fenders and how they attach. You would also need the brackets from the fenders for sure, The GTA's had an extra metal tab for the Ground FX support in the front of the fenders.
hope that is of some help.

Thanks...I know the front of the formy and the GTA are exactly the same except for like a piece for the gfx I think...I don't like the side and rear gfx on the GTA's...thats why I like the formy's better. If I were to buy this GTA I was planning on making it look like a Formula...but wasnt sure if it was as easy as just taking off the side and rear gfx.

Look closely at the lower side parts of the GTA front bumper. They have molded in ground effect parts, whereas the formula bumpers don't. If you were to take your side GFX off, there would still be the 'beginning' of the front skirt on the bumper.
