new carpet in 'vert

is the floorcarpet of an camaro hardtop the same as is on a convertible?

Not sure if you have this answered yet or not, but yes they are the same. The Convertibles started like as a T-top car, so they work the same way.

for later TA verts, the rear carpet is often black, so you only need to buy the passenger compartment carpet, not the full set including the hatch/trunk carpet.
