How to remove lighted rearview mirror.

Alright, some of you might remember my post about my rearview mirror falling off. I just had it glued back on and in the process the guy who did it managed to break it. The button you push in and out for night and day driving is now broken nd the mirror wobbles around. How do I take the mirror off to replace it with a new one? Am I gonna have to cut and splice the wires?

My lighted mirror had a connector on the mirror and I could remove the wires from it.

On the square mount on the mirror where it attaches to the glass, there might be a tiny screw, unscrew it and lift up.
If there isn't a screw, you should be able to just lift it up, but be careful not to pull the mount off of the glass.

yeah, there is a screw. I believe it is a hex head damnit, lol. About the connector, I tried pulling it apart, but I couldn't seem to get it to come loose. I didnt wanna pull too hard and break the whole thing so I just left it alone. Is there some kind of trick to getting it unlached?

I don't remember about the mirror power wire. I put mine in about 2.5 years ago. There might be a small tab that you need to bend before you pull it out.

dont have a hex head driver?

in a pinch, a torx bit may work since the mount isnt very tightly torqued..... i wouldnt try to break hex bolts loose with a torx, but for that screw, its fine.
