Door Lock Cylinder and other misc ??'s
I was working on my car today while waiting for a certain someone with the Yukon to get home from work so I could exchange my $400 air compressor at Home Depot (Note to self: _NEVER_ buy anymore Husky tools)...
I started by removing my door panel on the D/S. I found some interesting things. First off, my panels are trashed...
Second, it always sounded like there was broken glass in the door when it shut. It turned out to be some plastic.... something... it looked almost like wax from a candle that hand fallen, clumped and hardened. There was tons of this stuff in the door.
Anyway - I then tightened up my door handle with an 11mm wrench... then I moved on to the door lock cylinder. My D/S door lock has never accepted my door key... It works on the P/S door and the rear hatch..... Anyway. I got it out. Question is this:
#1: Can it be re-keyed to work with my existing door key?
#2: If so, who can do this? Locksmiths in my area are EXPENSIVE.
#3: How long does this usually take?
#4: Is it worth it to get a new cylinder rather than use the old?
#5: If so, where can I buy new ones and how much are they? (If GM, got a P/N so I can use gmpartsdirect?)
Sorry for so many questions, but I only want to do this once!

I got 2 from a junkyard T/A for $6, I had one of them rekeyed so I have an extra one (only needed the P/S done, damn thieves) It cost me $15 to get it rekeyed, yeah a locksmith is your best bet. Try going to those small places that have little shacks. Took him about an hour to do it.
