Power mirrors don't work?

Anyone have a good idea where I should start with troubleshooting my power mirrors?

I just recently bought an 89 Firebird with power mirrors, windows, and locks. I've managed to get everything to work besides the power mirrors, and for some reason my horn doesn't work either.

I recently replaced the fuse that runs the interior lights, power locks, etc. I'm not sure if the mirrors and/or the horn go on the same circuit as the rest of those.

Any help would be apprieciated.

Really the curcuit is pretty simple once you figure it out. There is a group of wires that goes from the center console to the DRIVER side kick panel. Since neither of your mirros seem to be working by your comment I would first check to see if you have power to the switch it should be orange and it should always be hot. (NOT on ignition circuit) You can try a new switch, there about $30 new from GM they appear to be used on 80's Bonnevilles too that are located on the door.

From the driver side kick panel there is a group of 4 or 5 wires that go up and over under your dash through a loom just below your dash pad into the passenger side door for the mirror.

There is a single wire (orange that plugs into a bay under the left side dash above the left kick panel)

thats how mine was wired.

Get a tester and start checking to see where your losing power.

Try this, take out the switch, and carefully take it apart. Clean the contacts, you may have to pry up on them a little if they're worn real bad. This usually does the trick as long as everything else is ok. Remember when you pry, a little goes a long way. Adjust them to where you want them, then leave them alone.
