New reverse Indiglow gauges installed!!

wELL THEY WENT IN PRETTY EASALY AND THE LOOK SWEET AS HELL. my speedo is still kinda off i think its 5 mph too low. I'll have to find one of those radar things on the side of the road and drive by it several times.

Anyone got good tips to set my guages right? every other one is pretty good i think my rpms may be like 100 off but not too much at all. I didnt mark them before i took them off but I know how my car usually runs so i set it to that. Since my gas gauge doesnt work anyway that wasnt too hard and since i have a manual fan switch the temp was easy too since i know my car runs at 150 at idle with the fan on and the car not moving. I'll get pics and a movie very soon! i have the movie i'll upload it tomirrow! let me know what you guys think

I also re painted the needles red as derek said and that came out pretty sweet

Hey.. I am curious.. I bought some reverse glow gages and I was going to install them after work today but I had some problems... I got mine from SR Motorsports, and when I received them I noticed one of the gages has a few problems with it, but I am going to fix that with an exacto(the hole for the trip reset is in the wrong spot and not all the numbers show on the milage). Anyway, Could you tell me what is the best way to get them on? did you remove the cluster out of the dash? did you take the needles off? I was told to try and slip them on without taking off the needles. Also... how can I find out which wires are the ones going to the headlights, so I can give the gages power? Thanks man.. I was starting to get a little frustrated with it and then I saw this topic.

ok heres the low down..

take out the cluster! really easy and this way you eleiminate all the hassels with other things getting in the way..

some people can get the faces on without removing the needles but i would suggest taking them off.. the only problem is you really have to make sure you put them back on just at they were.. makr where your tem guage is and gas and such..

after putting everything on put the cluster in and test the guages without putting the clear plastic back on... do you have a maro or bird?

it may be alittle diff3erent but i would even drive around and make sure the gauges are in the right spot b4 putting everything back together.

to fine out which wire to hook up just touch the powerr and ground and use process of elimination. i put them to 2 wires then put my running lights on..this should have your gauges coming on too... thenm put your actual headlights on if the wires wrong the gauges will turn off.. and then shut them off and see if the gauges stays on finually you'll find the right combo.

Ok.. cool. I have an 85 Iroc. The thing is the other day I was trying to take the gage cluster out and I got it loose.. but once I did I noticed something was holding it from behind the speedometer, and it felt like it was a wire of some sort so I didn't pull too hard fearing it would break something... Should I pull it out anyway?

you may have to reach under the dash behind the steering wheel to unplug your speedo cable on the maros but i'm not really to sure... if you have a bird like me you just pull
