Firebird radio pods... years/colors/differences?
Since I'm going to be making a tech article for using a 3RDGEN Firebird radio pod with a Camaro when installing a 4thgen console, I'm going to need to find the most suitable radio pod.
My question is this:
#1: Between 84-92, was there any physical change in the FIREBIRD radio pod mounts or design?
#2: From many pics I've seen, it looks like the Firebird radio pod came in two colors, light gray and dark gray/black. Is that correct? If so, did both colors come in all years 84-92?
#3: Did they ever come without the grid pattern on it?
Thanks - Hopefully I'll be able to get this tech article out soon.

1982-1984 cars have the Camaro style center console and there is no pod.
1985-1992 have the same radio pod. All years of it did have the grid pattern on the radio bezel. I have only ever seen the pod come in a dark grey. Never a true black.
Heres a pic of the 1982-1984 console. This is a Trans-AM interior with PMD seats. As you can see. There is not a seperate radio pod.
So for 1982-1984 cars you would have the same issues as with the Camaro. Also I would like to point out that while fourth gen consoles go with the look of the 1985-1992 interior. Or more closely go with it. It would look funny with the 1982-1984 Firebird dash.
