Painting interior panels?

Ok, so im sick of my red interior. Its clean, I just dont like it, and id really rather have a black interior. I can get the seats, door panels, headliner and sail panels I need, Im just not having any luck finding the correct plastic panels in black.

Is there a way to paint the red panels black? Im sure someone has done thos before. IF so, how did you do it? How well is it holding up to the sun? Does it look good, or is it obvious they were painted?

Any help is appreciated here, along with what products to use and where to get them. I wanna do this right, the first time.

Thanks,
Dave

Hey, I had the same problem as you a month ago. My interior panels were brown and faded so I decided I wanted them black. To paint the black I used Krylon Fusion paint. I got the paint at Walmart, Kragens, and Orchard. I have only had them painted for about two weeks but it seems to be holding up well. It looks great and you can only tell it was painted because it looks brand new. Other than that you cant really tell. The only downside of using Fusion paint is that it sometimes tends to have problems with the nozzle. You have to push it down every once in a while or it will not spray corectly and spray unevenly leaving little dots everywhere. Other than that it works good. Before I sprayed the panels I cleaned them with soap and water then you need to use an amonia based cleaner on the panels. I just used windex I think that covers all your questions. I will post some pics in a little. Hope this helps.

Mike

Have you checked the sponsors or YearOne or Classic Industries? When I was looking for plastic pieces, I found a lot in black only.
