Check out my progress :D
Hey guys, check out my newest F-Body
It's an 87 IROC that I got from a neighbor down the street, in the condition you see in the first pic and barely running. He had purchased it from a police officer who got in a frontend wreck, and just didn't have the know-how to fix it. Within about 2 days, I had the frame and upper fender supports trimmed up and then we welded the whole core support and frame horns on. My next step was to get it running. It needed a new cap, rotor, wires, spark plugs, it had bad gas, the ignition module was bad, the pickup coil had cracked from the accident, the valve cover gaskets were leaking REALLY bad, and the intake gasket was starting to leak some antifreeze. So after doing all that, and giving the whole TB, plenum, and runners a very thorough cleaning, and taking care of some wiring problems, it fired and ran perfect.
The next step was to get rid of all rust that would be covered by the frontend sheetmetal. That didn't go to bad, and I only needed to make a couple small patches for the wheel wells. You can't see it to well, but in the last pic, but I painted the engine compartment a bright and shiny cherry red
For body repair, I havent done much, I'm saving that stuff for alittle later. The nose only needed a little bit. It had a crack on the left going from the parking lamp to the side if the grill, and on the right front it had a "Y" shaped crack. I also shaved the emblem from the top-middle.
Now it sits as you can see in the last pic, with all the frontend parts on and alligned.
Let me know what you guys think

It also looks like I went over my bandwidth on my pic host, so I'll find another and get those reposted.

Not too much new yet. Fixed the gauges, replaced the control arm bushings, did the brakes, put in new front struts, my dad welded up the broken control arm bracket, installed new front ball joints, replaced the spindle on the passenger side, got rid of all the rust on the headlight baskets and painted them, and then installed all the headlights, finished sanding the front nose, alligned the hood, and installed the hood latch and all the plastic that forces air into the radiator.
Hopefully I'll be driving it by tomorrow

Here is how it sits right now
Took it out on the road too. Rides great
It pulls a little once I get to about 45 mph, but I think that is due to a bad allignment and bad tires. Kind of a pain in the butt driving with no PS, especially with the quick ratio steering box. I'm sure I'll get used to it though.
Really all that's left now is the bodywork, getting the interior back together, and then getting it to the painter.

...no power steering? Did you take it out or does it just not work? I had a car with no power steering once... and I'm glad to have it again!

You put a lot of hard work into it. I can't wait to see what else you do to it.
