best way to take off a fender

best way to take off a fender

i had a blowout, and im gettin the front passenger fender wed. and i need to know the best way to take it off, like what size of renches i should take ect.. and how much should i plan on payin for at a missouri junkyard for a pretty straight fender?? also, im takin my car to maaco, im doin the prep work, i plan on just gettin the paint ruff and puttin on the primer then sandin it down ect. would that work out good??? thanks

Doing the fender is not that hard. There's a bunch of 10mm bolts on top, some more holding on the front clip, some smaller ones(not sure the size) holding the gfx to the fender, the clips holding the fender skirt, and one larger(13mm or so?) on the bottom of the rear of the fender, under the car a bit. Once you get all the bolts out, taking care about the hood hinge, it should slide out pretty easy.

Mitch pretty much covered it. The only part that might give you trouble is the 4 nuts that hold the nose on. Just take off the plastic wheel well, have about 4 12" extensions and a deepwell 10MM socket, and it'll be cake.

Then you have about 5 10mm along the top, and a 13mm down on the bottom by the door. It will slide right off after that
