How to paint interior good?
How to paint interior good?
Ive seen some good interior painting jobs, but ive also seen some really bad ones...i want to change my interior from red to black...or maybe white...What would i use to paint the dash plastic good so it doesnt chip off after a month or so??
Thanks
Thanks
For what its worth, I just finished turning grey interior to black, used duplicolor with mixed results. Some of the panels Worked really well, some peeled off. I decided to buy all black panels, carpet, seats, etc. from a junkyard. I cleaned them and painted them black. They look really good, well worth the $100.
I just need to find front seats.

I used spray paint
worst Idea I ever had...although I do love the black interior...But mine looked real good for like a month but then if faded and chipped like no tomrrow, but the sprayed carpet on the panels looks really good still! I wouldreally advise some one to just get the proper color panels then to spray em. ome might look good for awhile but its only spray paint so it will fade in time...usually sooner than later...just my 2 cents

use the jc whitney stuff
i am currently in the process of painting all my interior panels a royal navy blue. I just used the stuff from jc whitney. two coats primer, 3 coats paint, and two coats clear. they are nice and shiny, but due to my current problem (blown engine) they aren't in the car yet. they sure look good sitting on the ground though, lol.
sorry no pics
good luck

Sorry If I wasn't clear. I used the spray can of Duplicolor vinyl and fabric paint (flat black) from autozone. I found that to get good results, I needed to put coats so light that it looked more speckled than painted. I gave plenty of time between coats to make sure everything dried completely (sometimes 30 min). So far so good. I'll post pictures when I can. As a side note, flat black is plenty shiny for plastic interior.
I probably could have pulled off just painting my blue/grey panels, but I got good black ones for less than the price of a second coat of paint. This way, if the paint peels, you see black plastic - much less noticable than grey!
