Framing Problem - 90 Camaro RS
Framing Problem - 90 Camaro RS
Purchased a 1990 RS for my son..... mechanically very good,
interior and exterior in good shape. However, the frame on the
drivers side along with the cross section holding up trans. has given way. Now is undrivable. Told that side section, cross section and flooring needs to be replaced. Welding company says it will cost about $1000.
Is it worth it ? Or are there any suggestions on what i could do.
Help and suggestions would be appreciated.
thanx

IMO the price for that type of repair isnt bad considering that floor section alone cost almost $300 from GM. The question of it being worth it comes down to you and your son. If you plan on keeping the car, and got a decent enough deal on it then its probably worth it. If you decide youre going to sale the car then you still need to have it repaired or youre just selling a car thats not road worthy to someone else. Which might get you into some legal problem depending on where you live, and how mad the new owner became when they found it. Scraping the car wont get the money back, and parting it out takes time, and you might make the money back if someone needs what you have.
