car broken into

My car was broken into tonight. Nothing stolen, they just smashed the faceplate of my radio on the ground. Now no radio, posted bout that on the audio board.
They did screw up my lock cylinder on the driverside door. The key no longer turns it, and the slot for the key is at a 45* angle instead of up and down. I have another set of keys and cylinders, how hard is it to replace them? How long does it take and what do I do?

Thanks,
Matt

first you have to remove the interior door panel, which involves removing the armrest, upper door panel(power locks and/or mirror) then removing the interior panel, then pulling back the weathersheild, then locating the lock cylinder, removing that one, and replace it with another one, repeat for passenger side

How much did you pay for the new cylinders? What I did was go to a junkyard, pick up some cylinders for an 82 T/A and get it rekeyed for my car. Cost me $3/each and $15 to rekey the lock. Made it so I only replaced one lock and the keys still matched the other doors.

I didnt pay anything for the cylinders. I found them underneath the seat in this parts car I have.

If could I get the new cylinder rekeyed for my car?

Yea the ones you found as long as your key fits in it. Just take it to a locksmith and have it re-keyed for your key.

You forgot to add a few items in the removal.

Get a flashlight.
Very little room to work.
Lots of sharp edges in the door.
Lock clip is hard as hell to remove.
A piece of plastic that ends into the lock to hold the end link is a real PITA!

P.S. Bring some band-aids. You're gonna need'em.
