Pics Of Power Window Switches?

I'm converting my 83 to power windows and the hatch release. It looks like the factory changed the switch design over the years. Would anybody be willing to send me pictures of these switches on their original 83?

Thanks!

Larry

Is it an 83 Firebird or Camaro?

To my knowledge, the only change that was made to the switches in the camaro's was when they changed the symbols color from white to yellow in 1990. If your car is a firebird, I am not that familiar with them.

There was a discussion about switches some time ago. Some members, including me (85 IROC), apparently had no symbols on the switches. I swapped the white version in.

Sorry, wasn't thinking... It's a Camaro.

I was looking at my old Camaro brochures and it looks like the 82 and 83 might be the same. The 82 has a nice close up, but the 83 is kinda hard to tell if it's the same. I think in 84 the printing changed. I'm not looking at the brochures at the moment, so I'm not 100% sure.

If you don't really care about really brand new switchs, you can go to a junk yard and pick up some old switchs and hatch releases there. It is also a good place to pick up the wiring harnesses and window regulators with motors cheap. The local dealership here wants $178.00 each for the regulators and $165.00 each for the motors. I scored two regulators and motors with the associated cam tracks from a local junkyard for $50.00 and about an hour of my time removing them.:lala: :lala: If you want new switches to make things look nice, go to this link.

When I was re-doing the interior on my '89 Iroc, I also took my interior trim out and painted it with Krylon Fusion plastic paint. It turned out really good.

Good luck with your project.

You might check with your GM dealership. I think the switches I bought were eight something per, and there was no shipping.

i have noticed that very early cars have one style, more squarish..

then most 3rdgens have the same switches, kinda curved on the corners more then the first ones..

then 90+ camaros got the yellow printed on them...
