u can get led bulbs that fit in the stock dash cluster sockets for the gauges, but they cost more than regular bulbs, but are brighter and last way longer

I've done it with the speedo and tach lights so far, but becuase of the rest of the white lights in the housing, they don't look like they should. Also, keep in mind that more energy is used to produce a bright blue light, and that you will end up dialing up your dimmer switch a lot, but this is only a problem if you like it turned down a lot at night. I have an aftermarket CD player, and the light is the same color of that in the radio display, so it isn't a problem for me. You can get the light bulbs for $2.19 a two-pack at Advance Auto. For Firebirds, you need five packages (nine bulbs and a spare), and I am not sure about Camaros. The lights turn the needles a bright yellow-green, which will look better when I get all the lights in blue. I am happy with them the way they are now.
I replaced my gauge cluster bulbs with APC bulbs (Super White, I think). But they all vary in strength and hue... it sucks. You can try a bunch of different bulbs out, but ultimately I think you'd have to go a different route for something real good looking. The LEDs look pretty good.
Do a search for the user named, "Blackened". He did a VERY cool custom LED backlighting on his gauges and I think there was a write-up on it, or at least he took very good pictures which I've saved. He may chime in here.
