T-Top Drain holes?
T-Top Drain holes?
Didn't really know where to post this but I heard about plugged t-top water drain holes causing rust in the pillar section of these cars. My cars been painted twice so I'm pretty sure mine are plugged. I've checked the bottom of the arm where it meets the fender and there are two imprints of holes but they are completely covered.
Does anyone know where exactly are the t-top drain holes? I'd really like to ensure they are unplugged..
Thanks,,

I've never heard of drain holes for t-tops; the water usually runs off them at the front and/or rear edge by the sheetmetal and down the outside of the window.
The 'covered holes' you see are probably just the spot welds that hold the A-pillar to the cowl.

I think the "canals" in the trim itself (front and rear) is where the water is supposed to "run" out. After washing my T/A I always take the tops off and dry out the canal.
I have noticed a little rust beginning to show where the trim meets the metal on the rear panel though.
Gonna have to take it off carefully when I sand it down for the repaint.

when i redid my t top seals there were no holes for water it just follows a path between the seals and the roof and then down the outside of the window. So is it safe to say you have a leak?

The revised GM seals have a 'rain channel' in them. There is a lip on the body part of the seal that 'wraps' the top seal when the top is placed on. The body part of the seal has a hole in it that allows water to run down it and drain at the opposite end down the hinge pillar. Apparently mainly designed to help prevent leaks between the top and the body. Other than that, there are no other 'drain holes'.
