can i ask why you feel the need to take it out?

ive found most of the time, people replace the entire unit when a simple part change is all they need.....

oh and yea, it can all come out as one piece...

undo the elec plugs under it... remove the steering wheel if you're going to.... then undo the 2 bolts under the dash and the other bolts and it comes right out.

There are three bolts on the firewall at the base of the column, and one that holds the column to the shaft on the steering box too. It's a pretty basic job. If you want it to be a direct swap, make sure the wiring on the new column is identical. They did change quite a bit throughout the years.

I did the same thing but now I've run into a problem. I took the steering column shaft off of the intermediate shaft and now i'm having a pain trying to get it back on. I know that there is a notch in it so it lines up right and that is in the correct position, but I need to know what kind of method is used to get the intermediate shaft on correctly. I'm searching and coming back empty handed.
