tilt wheel
tilt wheel
Was wondering if any of our cars came with a tilt steering column. Sorry if this is a stupid question but I only know of my 87 and with dash clearence I dont see how. Column needs replaced and a tilt will make climbing in and out of cage a lot easier, but if I read the NHRA rules right it must maintain a stock length steering column. Dash pad wont matter, That will be modified as well.

My hydraulic cam is kinda small, so i sometimes forget about the extra 101 cubic inches i put in it, until i give it a little extra gas through a turn with my stock 15x8 inch wheels and 235/60R15s on the back. Then i'm staring in the direction i just came from (happened twice, but on back roads back home in AL. don't drive like that in town).

Also, do yourself a favor and locate one out of a donor car of the same year if possible since that will make it a direct bolt in and plug in for the wire harnesses that hook it up to the electrical and ignition. My 82 didn't have a tilt wheel and yes it's a pain to get in and out of the car, especially as you get older as I am. Take your time and do get the coupler good and tight should you tackle this project, otherwise your steering will feel sloppy.
