two ways that i know

There are two products that sylvania makes. One is an actual HID conversion will all the parts that gives you that expensive BMW or lexus blueish purpelish tint, but this kit which is the Xenarc x4656 is most of the time hard to find and expensive, i have seen them from $350 to $500 this website has them
http://www.buytruckstuff.com/product...y=26&p_gpID=99

Then the other product by slyvania is the silverstar wich is a replacement halogen that is at a 4000k temp., which will give you a clean pure white look, instead of the yellowish offwhite look from halogen. This headlight H4656 ST , will put you back about $30 to $50 from what i have seen. This website has them
http://www.global4autoparts.com/Prod...Star_Bulbs.htm

I have looked into this for a while, i hope it helps some!

Hi,
I have converted the Headlights on my 1982 to Bright White H4 using APC Coomposite Headlamp, Bright White H4 bulbs, and wiring harness.

The wiring harness provides power directly from the battery though relays that are control by the orginal light circuits.
The complete conversion set me back about $125. I purchase all of the parts at my local Advance Auto Parts store.

The Headlight lens part number is 403654HL
I had to modified the Headlamp mounting bracket to make the lens fit. One nice feature of the Headlamp lens is that it comes with a rubber gasket that makes a good moisture seal for the H4 bulb. The wattage on the bulbs are 55/60 watts. They provide a vary biight white light.

I also converted to the H4 bulb, I got my kit from eurolights.com. At first I wasn't happy with the company because they didn't tell me I would have to rewire to use these bulbs, but the job wasn't too hard, and there is a tech article on this site on how to do it. So if you have a day to do the job, I say go ahead and go with something like this.

The bulbs I got are 85/100W Xenon filled, and have a color rating of 4800k

They look pretty good, and are way brighte then the silverstars I had before.

Chris.

Hi Chris,
I doubt that you ever get busted, but the 85/100 watt bulbs are only for off-road use.

Ya I doubt I'll get busted for them either, I've had them on for almost a month now, and I haven't had 1 person high beam me or anything.

When your looking right at them, they really don't blind you at all, but they really do light up the road better.

I must just have them aimed right or something, so many people out there have them pointed to the sky, its no wonder they get pulled over.

Yeah the SilverStars look good on my IROC. I work for CSK(Checker,Shucks & Kragen) and we sell the SilverStars for $19.99 right now and the converstion kit for $800(if I remember correctly). The Stars look great man.

Yeppers. I have Silverstars on my IROC as well. They work great. I think I paid like $20 to $25 per bulb.

The only disadvantage of the Silverstars, and any other of the bluish bulbs, is when it wet and rainy or foggy. The fog or moisture in the air, and wet road surface reflects the blue back at you MUCH worse than stock halogens, making it sometimes hard to see. To solve this, I put the gold ion dichroic bulbs (slightly golden yellow) in my fog lamps, and they cut through the moisture like a hot knofe through buttah. If you want to go with lamps with a color temp of 4000K or higher, I would strongly recommend upgrading your fogs with gold bulbs. It's nice to be able to see when it's raining.

Putting blue bulbs in your fogs would make them essentially useless.

i have the silvania 4656CB in my camaro, they look very nice. they arent blue, but they are a very solid white and look very good. think about those. anything that will work from silvia is a 4656, the only difference is the letters after the 4656

hey tremo, what wattage are your gold dichroic bulbs that you put in your fog lamps? I can only seem to find 70watt and 100watt versions... and won't that melt something? I put in some 100watt sylvannia(cheap ones) and they started melting the plastic in about 10 minutes...
