Simple question about swapping 4th Gen stuff in 3rd Gen

I just want to make sure I got this all right, If I get the engine, tranny, rearend, ECM, all wiring, and the dash with gauges, they all plug in together and work? All I'm gonna have to splice is the lighting in the front and rear along with the Rear defroster correct? Seems like if you do it all at once, with the exception of fabrications (not really that much involved) it pretty easy. Just a thought. I'm doing full LT1 swap with 4th gen interior. Just wondering if my logic is in the right direction. Oh by the way, if I want accurate odometer I need to have GM reset this right? I'm doing hopefully 97 Camaro parts. Thanks for the help! Later!

I don't really know a lot on the subject but I would check the engine swap forum for all that. The interior stuff should just bolt in. Good luck with the project.

If you get the dash with it's complete wiring harness and the engine with it's complete harness, it will be almost a complete plug and play affair.
Some of the 4th gen up front lighting is part of the engine harness, btw. My 93 harness has the parking lamps incorporated into it, and possibly the headlights too.

The dealer can only set a brand new 97+ odometer once. Once there is .01 miles on it, it is locked.

Call, thanks Zepher, so are you saying that the connectors for the headlighta and taillights are the same between the 3rd and 4th gens?

No, I am not saying that. I am saying that the 4th gen engine harness has the 4th gen lights on the same harness.

It took me a little while to find this thread, but I think it's what you're looking for.
