hit the switches
Could all of you who have added extra switches post pics of where you put them? I'm thinking of putting a few where the ash tray used to be, but I'm still looking for other ideas. Thanks

check out the 9th post down...
....I say this is the best idea for custom gauges in the ash tray..........as to other places for the switches.........I know some put them under the dash, inside of the console.....
goodluck with what you decide to do.

You're right. That one looks really good. I was thinking of putting a fan switch, a switch to open cowl, maybe an electric cutout switch, but now I'm thinking that if I can't find a t top overhead console to put it in, maybe a digital compass will go there! BTW, anyone want to trade a t top overhead console for a hard top one?

I have a 4th gen console, I put a switch for my fan right where the plate that tells you were the gears are was. I want an overhead console though to put switches on. Switches are fun
underneath my steering wheel looks very much like the above picture. i have my nitrous switches in my ash tray so that i can keep them covered for most of the time which i like. my new fiberglas console that i'm designing now will have a similar idea to the ashtray in the same section but will have a much larger setup towards the center while retaining all the stock switches on the top to keep it's function.
switches you use alot should be very easy to get to while in driving position. things like lights, fans, etc. that you rarely turn on should go in the other areas. just as an idea i've seen people horizontally mount the center console door so that the switches inside could be easily accessed. good luck.

i redid my panel. i got tired of looking at three extra switches. don't getme wrong, they look cool and all, but i had to redo it. i currently have two toggles hidden in my ash tray. i plan to redo it again with switches from 'trick cable and switch'.
here is a good example of what the swithes look like. i will, however, utilize a switch panel made by me with those switches in a configuration similar to what i posted above. i will, however only have two switches, one on/off and another on/off/on. both with indicator lights built into the switch.

Anyone have pics of switches mounted in the roof console? I just ordered some textured plastic and removed the dial indicators in my console to mount two fan switches. I'm curious how people got the panel to stay? I attempted to make a bracket out of sheet metal but didn't suceed.
