Magic words used here are:
KRYLON FUSION PAINT!
Works well on plastics, so I've heard. Have not used it yet because I have to strip the crap paint off of the panels first.

One bad thing about Fusion is:
It ONLY comes in gloss. I figure that they have yet to make a flat in that special formula for bonding to the plastics.

another thing that works good, did for me when i repainted my center console black was vinyl dye, it goes right into the plastic, and apparently you dont even have to sand, just clean it

Vinyl dye should be available from any local automotive paint dealer. Just a spray on, recommend a slight sanding to remove any small imperfections, then clean with rubbing alcohol. Be sure to let the dye cure a day or two before reinstalling and should have no problems with bonding.

you wont be able to tell it from the stock black plastic.
also works on black carpet, just spray and run a soft brush and it comes out perfect.
also its made for leather, so if you have fading on your leather seats (why i bought it) it works great.
this is the stuff people use when they restore old cars that you cant get new carpeting and plastics for.

you can get it from walmart around here.... dont get teh dupli color stuff... it looks like cheap crud.

also, it does not change the feel of the material at all..
and as a durability test, i sprayed one of my oakley ripsaw boots with it, and left the other one as it was...
its been over a week and a half, everyday wearing, and the sprayed boot still looks new, and no sign of wear, fade, or discolor where it flexes.

i should add, my entire cars interior is black leather and black carpet/trim
so ive only used the black.
i dont know how close the browns or anything else match the orignal 3rdgen colors.
also, that pic of the half sprayed chair is on the can.. look for it in the store.

its like... i donno, like the leather and plastic look stock.. not shiny not flat.... and i dont feel semi-gloss is a accurate decription...
what i did to test it:
pulled my drivers seat out.. and did the carpet under the seat.... i also did the underside corner of the seat where its on the console... that way if it looked awful, noone would see..
well it came out great... i suggest you do the same thing and tell us how you like it..

sand? no! that would ruin the "grain" in the plastic parts...... heh, just clean them really well, i used Dawn, since its very mild, and dry it
once its totally dry, spray it.
when i sprayed the carpet i immediatly followed it with a soft brisled brush to make sure every side of the fibers were coated... btw, thats how i also accidently cought a wift of it... hold yer breath.. lol.
