I'm just a curious guy. . .

I have a '86 Z28 and the backs of my front seats do not go forward enough for my taste. Either from wear or by design. When I drive I am so far slouched back, it's ridiculous. Do any of you know anything about how to modify them so the backs will go more forward???

do you have power seats or regular? you may want to look at the rear mounts of the seat base they may be bent if it is a manual seat.

It is a manual seat. I'll see if the base is bent. Otherwise, I will need to start considering other alternatives.

It's also fairly common for the recliners to break in these, but usually when they go, they go all the way. You could upgrade to some newer 4th gen seats to correct the problem It's the same frame as your current seats, but they will have newer upholstry and padding, as well as newer recliners and tracks.

Very good idea about using fourth gen seats. Does anyone know if rear fourth gen seats would fit in a third gen as well???

yep, if you have the straight back seat it's direct, if not you'll have to remove the center mount between the 2 piece seat back. Then it will be a direct swap in as well.
