he's in sweden so i doubt there are many thirdgens in yards let alone reasonably priced parts for them

maybe you could sweet talk someone here into buying it for you from a yard and shipping it to you may be cheaper than ebay

i would do it for you if i was at home but there aren't any cool yards around here at school

If trusty eBay lets you down, then Classic Industries ought to have one available. When/if I find my catalog, I'll sift through and see if I can find a p/n

And of course; Welcome to the board!

No luck yet.

Hi again guys, thank you for all replyes!

I had no luck finding my shifter plate.

Serched ebay, year one and classic industries.

I thougt i hit the right spot when i searched year one, they had exactly the same image for a shifter plate in stock like i posted at the top. But after reading the text, it says 82-87.

Looks like they all replaced the 90-92 shifter plate model with 82-87 for all 3-gen.

There is acctually one Camrojunkyard nearby, but also the only in Sweden witch sucks and offcourse they donīt have it either.

Fastelectrics< Are you sure you bought a shifter plate from 90-92 with the red marking, and not a shifter plate for 82-87 witout the rubberband and the red marking witch follows your gearposition?

If you got what iīm serching for please:hail: tell me were you found it.

Merry Cristmas eveyone overthere/ Robert

I think the 90-92's had yellow lettering, but were physically the same as the older ones. The older ones had white. I know my 89 Camaro had the red marking that follows the gear. I am sure they all did regardless of the year.

From the year 82-87 they were only white with black lettering or the other way around.

88-89 white lettering with red marking witch follows the gear.

90-92 yellow lettering with red marking witch follows the gear.

Both is ok, just so it has the red marking.

Anyone?:hail:

I saw one on ebay sell for 150 bones, that seems crazy to me for a little trim piece. I think the most I would pay would be 40 bucks for something like that.

I'm pretty sure i paid like $28 for that shifter plate new from GMpartsdirect in January of 02. It's possible it's discontinued now though.

Edit:

I just checked and found 12503750 which is for the 88 - 89 plate, the one i ordered about two years ago and it didnt' come up on gmpartsdirect.com. I guess it is discontinued. I knew i should of ordered more then one, i could of been making some money hehe.

trying not to hyjack the post but 3gc, what is that LED for right in the middle of the console behind the window and hatch buttons? I have the same one but it was disconnected when I got the car and I can't figure out what it goes to. I know its not for the alarm because I have a seperate one for it.

It was for an old alarm that was there when i got the upper console for christmas two years ago. A light from my actual alarm is there now though. Yours might be from a perviously installed alarm.

I didn't know canada has white trash, I always thought that was an american "good ol' boy" type thing

Also, Robert76- My girlfriend is going to be selling her extra soon, I'll find out if it has the red. It's from an 85 Z. I have no idea how to ship outside the country though.

I checked with her, and it must be the old style, cause there's no red on it. If I find one around here though I'll keep you in mind

KBeez:

The shifter plate is attached to your ashtray, total of...6 screws i believe, you will need to pull ur shifter **** off. There is a pin on the front of it, shift to 1st and ull see it, just pop that out, and it pulls off, theres a little bead looking thing in there. then the plate goes right over top of that.

Simple as pie

Ill look for pics...

In this pic, its dirty... From the first day i bought it, much better now

Anywho, the ones in red are what you pull out, the ones in yellow are fake. Just pull them out and u are good to go

Opps almost forgot, theres a wire for ur indicator, but its long, u'll see it
