Hey for anyone thinking of suicide doors, check out this link: http://www.suicidedoors.com/howto/howto_suicide.htm Click on that S10 picture to see the how-to... great photos!

Although I'm assuming that a racetrack wouldn't let suicide doors pass thru tech inspection?

damn that's pretty cool, Im thinking maybe suicide doors with shaved door handles? I'll never get near a dragway, but that's what highways are for anyways.

. To me it was worth every minute. Just look what you have when you are done, a door that opens backwards
I can't help but laugh at this comment. There is absolutely no functional purpose in having suicide doors whatsoever. All that time spent just so your doors open the wrong way.

you could open em and use them like sails to get you thru the turns.....

to be honest, i would be intrested if we could open our doors UP.... not for looking trick, i just mean a functional way that lets me get out of the car in the parking lot without having to carefully hold the door from hitting the car next to me.

yeah, I don't really see a reason for suicide doors, but Beck who runs that site is a way cool guy, and if you're into that stuff I hope you give him business, 'cause he's helped me before in the past...

and yeah, doors that open up would be sweet!!

I'd love to do it, but I'm screwed outta it, just like I am with shaved handles- gotta pass tech. If I finally got my car finished and couldn't take it down the 1/4, I'd be one upset TomP!

I thought the wording in step 24 was great, too!

But I guess we'd all need subframe connectors before any of us did this job...

well to be honest, im going to be doing half of that anyway..

see the part where they brace the back half of the door, and add a striker?

go look at a 4thgen... they have a 2nd door striker bolt.... it holds the door there when the car flexes and stiffenens the whole car up... if you've ever had the door skin off, you'll see that the crossbar goes from the front of the car to the back near this bolt..

im planning on bracing the back of my door on the inside with some plate, then cutting a lil "notch" that the striker bolt just slides in.... then when i shut my door.... they shouldnt flex as much.... :lala:

big diff between planning on doing it and actually doing it... i probly never will since i now need a rollbarand all...

ANybody seen a instruct on making camaro doors open up? that would be a very valuable thing on these cars... not only would it look cool as ****, but think about it when you are at the mall or whatever, these doors are hard to deal with, and im sick of hitting my Z with the 305 when i come home half asleep at 4 in the morning.
