seat cover removal
I need to pull the seat cover off of the top half (part where your back goes) of my seat. There is a small tear that im going to have repaired and it requires the removal of the fabric part. I tried unzipping the back and then just pulling the cover off but that didnt work...any suggestions?
thanks in advance....

There are 2 rods about 12" to 14" long...one along either side of the seat back where the seam is...you will have to cut off or twist off the hog rings that hold it at the bottom of the seat back...
the rod will then slide out....it has a "bar" imbedded in the seat foam towards the top of the seat back that it slides under.
to replace you will need a couple of hog rings to resecure the bottom of the rods...that have loops in them IIRC...
THINK there may be a rod runs side to side near the bottom of the seat back...where the 'velour' seam is.....can't remember for sure....

really not that tough....i replaced my upholestery with an order from Bruce at Hawks Third Gen
took about an hour per seat ....first one took longer ...second shorter due to knowing what was going on....
hardest part was crimping the stupid hog rings......definitely a lot easier if you have hog ring pliers...about 4 or 5 bucks at home depot....
