Blacked out running lights

Anyone got em, are they illegal? I wanna nightshade mine but i dont feel like being pulled over every five minutes

Did the same thing on my 84.All night shaded.BTW.in the 12 or so years since i did this,never been pulled over for dark tailights & they look black when off.Even in daylight.....

Wouldn't it be pretty easy to paint the running lights? I know people have painted the whole tail lights for a blackout, i think it looks kinda bad, but the running lights are smooth so it might look good. Just my .02 - btw anyone know where i can get the paint for this?

these are my spare lic plate lenses,but did the same on the car(both are cracked).The Fr lamps have been replaced & i havent gotten around to redoing those(yet).As for the paint here in cali its illegal to sell it.so i get it from summit.BTW if you paint the tail lights from the inside they will look smooth on the outside....

Yeah but you still see the whole grid pattern and if you just get the covers (like GTS ones) they smooth em out and i prefer that look soo much more.
