window question

Hey everyone. I picked up a 91 camaro not to long ago, and it doesn't have side windows. I went to pull some from a junkyard, and was told the 82-88 and 89-92 are different. Is this true? I thought all the door panels were the same. Also, are the windows on convertibles any different? Any tips or tricks to getting the windows out and back in? Going to pick them up tomorrow, 80 bucks for the 2 of them. Any advice before then would be awesome.

The only differance in the glass between 82-88 and 89-92 is the VATS sticker they put in the lower right corner.

When you take the window regulator out and its on the ground ( which by the way is a pain by its self!) if you have acess to a welder , weld some 1/4-20 bolts to the regualator, from the back side facing out ( facing into the car) then obtain some 1/4-20 nuts and youll be in busness. this will make re assembly much easier, and you wont have to break your arm to put it back together. other than that its pretty straight forward. I welded mine in the same fashon as I've just told you , andevery time I have to take the door apart I am so glad I did it. Hope I helped you , good luck!

I just put mine back in two months ago with the large rivets that the factory uses. No broken arm, no lost nuts or bolts, no dropped wrenchs or sockets. Just a pinched finger from having it in the wrong position on the rivet gun. Oh, and don't remove the motor from the regulator without putting a strong bolt, two large washers and a nut through the holes in the regulator arms. A lot of spring tension there that could just ruin your week. I also have the GM service manual that tells how to do it.
