Led in my Camaro 87

Hi,
i know this question been asked several times here, but since i´m not that good at English i hope someone has the patient to answer me.

I want to put led in my 87 interior, or replace bulbs so that i get blue light in my dash and shifterplate.

Or if there is a possiblity to swap buls.

I need links to shops. And names to witch led or bulbs i have to buy in order to achieve same effect simular to attched picture below.

Anything will help/Thanks Robert

That looks like the same display from the Tech ariticle. If so I have the same LEDs that he used for his install. I may be selling the LEDs that I bought if your interested. I have a total of 15 of them, 2 of which I have already used for the shifter selector which I will include. The reason I may be selling them is because I was going to use them for my 91 Camaro but the blue light shines through the yellow and turns a dull green.

Anyone else use LED's in there 91-92 camaro and if so what color??

The 91 has yellow text (plastic) for the numbers. Blue + yellow = green. Unless you remove the faces and somehow get the yellow plastic out of the faces or redesign the faces with no yellow you cannot get anything but green. There is a thread on this, try searching.

Hey Robert

I dont want to be rude or something
but that tech ariticle you have, everything stands

You need eleven leds, but if you use the 3000MCD you will need 2/socket for brighter light.

remember that leds are polarity, and use right resistor,if you dont they easy burn out and the last thing, your dimmer will not work

Grafx:did you buy lots of leds??
because you have four into your dash and Robert have eleven!

No need to worrie, i don´t think you are rude or something.

So i´ll be needing 22leds for my dash+2 leds for my shifter indicator+12 resistor, is this right?

Can you find leds with reistor built in or do i have to do it myself?

And last, were can i buy 3000MCD and resistor?

Robert

Try this, I know its not what you were looking for, but the install is a snap, and you won't need the 20+ leds. I tried the LEDs before and found that they really didn't give the lighting I wanted. I have these indiglo faces in my iroc and absolutely love the visibility.

I hand painted the needles with a bright orange I found in a hobby store. Total was probably like 35 bucks.

Don't get me wrong I love LED's, I have them in other areas of my car, like the gauge pod

its real fuzzy, but you get the idea. Works well in this gauge
