hood question

hood question

i need a latch and spring for my ss hood. can i use my stock pieces for the latch? i need a new spring though, anyone have any suggestions or know the gm part number if they still have the spring?

for the price i couldn't pass it up. well i need to know where to get a new spring as i can't use my stock one. i just prefer to buy one new if i can....

Why can't you use your stock one? You could always check out some junkyards and pick one up. Are you going to be using hood locks or anything? The reason I ask is because it seems like at high speeds, my hood wobbles where the headlight pockets are. I've also noticed that the paint on my hood is cracking a little bit because of the wobbling (very very very small crack), so I'm going to install a set of hood locks in mine this spring....and I'm also going to have to repair the cracks.

well my stock hood would do that as well up around 170 mph but it shouldn't do it at normal freeway speeds. if it does i'm sending it back as it should be alot stiffer then that.
