how do i get the mounting hardware off?

i just took my old aerowing off my formula and put on a 91-92 Z28 high rise spoiler (which looks pretty good...)
How do you remove the mounting hardware on the sides of the rear window? I haven't tried anything yet, just needed some suggestions before i go and tear it off. Do they even come off????

If you're talking about the clips on the frame of the glass, then no- they don't come off.

That being said, here's how you take them off : If you look really closely at each clip, you can see a couple slight indentations where the factory spot-welded them onto the hatch frame. Drill right into the middle of each spot weld. Don't go too deep or you'll go into the frame- or worse, through the frame and into the glass.

I drilled each spot weld and then used pliers to coax the clips off the frame. Be gentile, you don't want to break the glass.

Sorry, you can't see the spot welds in the picture above. they are on the "bottom" of the clip.

Here is what you should have when you're done:

Or you could just be like me, and leave them on. lol When people ask what they are I simply respond:
'They're Speed Holes...they make the car go faster '
Then I tell them the truth, and they're somewhat disappointed

if that don't work then i'll just use the "speed holes" approach.
