hatch motor problem
i have a question about the hatch motor, do all hatch motor from a 3rd gen works in every 3rd gen car?
i have read about my camaro 92 is not the same motor as the others 3rd gen cars
But if you look at ebay those they sell always stands 82-92
anybody out there who knows?

I think they changed the design. You might want to check out Top Down Solutions they offer a good array of hatch pull down parts.

There are two versions of hatch pull-down unit used in the ThirdGen's. Actually there were three, since there are some construction differences between the 1986-87 and the 1988-91. But since they are interchangeable by simply swapping the plug on the blue wire, considering them from a fit and function basis, there are just two. The 1986-91 cars have a hatch pull-down unit with a large metal frame. I manufacture and supply most of the parts needed to repair these units. There was a change mid-year in 1991 to a smaller unit with a tan colored injection-molded plastic frame. The only part that was carried over from the old model to the new was the gear (called a gear nut) that is turned by the worm drive of the motor and raises/lowers the latch portion. I have a few used units in stock and plan to disassemble, clean and rebuild them. I only have the gear nut and reversing switch as new replacement parts so far.
