For those who have done it...
I'm finally getting started on my 4th gen dash. I just bought a complete 4th gen dash out of a 99 Camaro, minus the gauge cluster. Question is, for people that have done this, what which gauge cluster should I be looking for to make the easiest possible swap into a 91 z28? I'm guessing a 93-97 formula/TA one, right? Because those years in Camaro's were different and later years had the LS1. Also, am I gonna need that dakota converer thing?
Also, is the wire chart here
the same for the other gauge clusters (preferably the one I will need) ?

Yes, 93-96 Trans Am or Formula cluster is what you want.
97+ has the digital odometer and possibly some other electrical changes as well, so I'd recommend the earlier style.
I've got a 97 Camaro cluster, but I don't think I'll be able to get it working correctly since it functioned strange when I tested it in my brothers 96 Trans Am.
The Camaro one is much nicer than the T/A one too.

Alright, 93-96 'bird. That should be easy enough.
Another question. I've read a bunch about the gap that a 4th gen dash leaves between the A pillars. Anyone know if the fourth gen ones will fit on there? Like I said, I've read a lot about this, but I've only seen Fatal do something about it.

I haven't really finished my swap and haven't noticed any gaps between the dash and a piller, but I do have a gap between the dash and the side of the car, it's about 1 inch or so.

I am pretty sure 4th gen a-pillars won't work since they are shaped very different. I'll test fit one to see how close or off it is.
