Gone forever. Good luck finding it. Try fishing around with a magnet, otherwise you'll have to do some serious dismantling of the dash to get inside the vents.

A magnet might help your cause. When I dropped something in a similar spot, not a vent though, it found its way to the floor below. Maybe by posting, some of my luck goes your way. Let us know if you find out where the vent leads...

dont give up after you fish around for them the first time! if nothing comes up, drive around and listen for them making noise.... use that to help you fish for them again if you're still up to it. or, if your luck is good, they might just pop out underneath somewhere and the problem will be solved... well, best of luck!

Unless you have a super-skinny 5ft magnet, you won't see them again.....Believe me, I've tried!

Make sure the string you use is pretty strong... you'd hate to lose your magnet!

Well I've dropped a bolt down the exhaust pipe once when i had the manifold off. I used a magnet attached to a toilet snake.

I did the same thing. A magnet got it out.

arr Ive tried this a million times...eventually other stuff just starts making more noise than the screw in the vent and you get over it...try having your exhaust resting on part of your rear end...evey time the exhaust makes noise...well it makes alot more noise! not to mention every little bump in the road ahhhhhhh
