Under Dash Panel
Under Dash Panel
I was trying to improve my passenger side leg room because the owner before me put in a 6x9 and cut apart the under dash panel to do it. I also think he cut up heating duct work but don't know. Does anyone have any pictures of the passenger side under dash panel either inside or out of the car and also what the dash looks like underneath so i can tell if he cut anything else to make it fit in. I appreciate the help.

I do not have any pics right now but as far as I know the only ducting right above the floorboard is the heater box etc. I will try and take some pics later because mine is all torn aprt right now. I am trying to fix some broken plastic.

Boy, do you owe me!!!
Just kidding, but it's -3 degF here (NY) and it was cold as a well-digger's a$$ out there. Lucky for you, I've been there and I know how a pic can put you on the right track.
See if these help you. I hope so. One here, two more coming.
Good Luck.

One screw in center??
Geez, I wish you hadn't asked me that---now I gotta take a look when it warms up out.
I've never taken the passenger side off---whatever scuffs, marks and missing screws must be from the last owner. When I took those pix, I couldn't even look thru the viewfinder, just stuck the camera down there, rough-aimed it and *flash!* Came upstairs from the garage and checked to make sure I got what I needed.

Hey guys...
Just looking back at the pictures I posted....
Looks like a small stain right under where the heater core is.
Does that look like rust, or antifreeze (uh, oh, maybe)???
If it's antifreeze, could be old. Last owner might have already replaced the core. No way to know for sure.

Thanks for the help both of you!
Thanks, now i can see that mine is cut by the previous owner. It's only about half there b/c of the speakers he put in.... why compromise the interior for his crappy speakers that he put it?
Is there any sort of duct that connects to the heater ven under the dash b/c when looking at both of you two's panels it looks like the air would just get trapped in the dash and keep the passenger cold.

Yeah I don't know what those holes are for either.
Dean, I wouldn't worry about it; some moisture probably got trapped in there at some point to cause the stain.
Farfire, that sucks... but at least you could get one from a junkyard for a buck or two! People do some stupid things with our cars... the guy who had my car before I did had decided to screw tweeters into the panel between the hatch window and roof. He told me his stereo was stolen, and he never put the tweeters back.
Well one day in the rain I notice water dripping behind my driver's seat. The guy had actually drilled THRU THE ROOF, into the drip rail at the top of the hatch window, to mount his precious tweeters. I had to wait until it wasn't raining anymore, then I squeezed a tube of black silicone into the hole.
And now that I mention that... wow, that was back in '94. I hope there's not a pile of rust there now. Damn.

Some people jsut don't understand an F-body. They jsut treat it like another car. It's kinda funny the things you lean about a person after you look through the car you just bought from them... and there are always more surprises waiting for you...
the sad thing is the guy's system did more damage to my interior and sounds worse than the mods i made to it.
The guy before me kept the 4x6's in the dash, moved the 6x9 from the back to under the dash then put in a crappy set of cone pioneers (very old) in the original 6x9 spot and made two boxes out of wood to attach to the trunk trim (where your t-tops would lay). After taking out his headunit and putting in mine from my other car, removing the 6x9 under the dash and the 6x9's in the trunk, i put bass blockers on the 4x6 and the sound is better than before. The guy tried to make that system a selling point of the car too.... sad.
Engine's in good shape though....
