Headlight bracket broke
I hadn't driven my car at night in a long time(have a winter beater) but had to drive my firebird to work the other day. When I left I turned on my headlights and the headlight motors made a screeching noise, and the passenger side headlight didn't pop up. When I got home and checked I noticed that at the top rear of the headlight bezel(when closed) there are 2 mounting bolts where the headlight is attached to the body. The mounting tabs where the bolts run through are snapped! So my whole headlight unit is kinda freefloating now.I guess I have to go to the junk yard and get a new bracket. What could have caused it to snap off like that?It was kind of cold out, could something have been frozen? Is there any moving parts that could have siezed?

I think its some what common mine did that also. If you look at the metal its made out of its just potmetal. And it gets torqued everytime you open and close it. It could of had ice in it and when the motor kicked in it just broke the tabs instead of moving the light.
