door panels

I think I am going to make my door panels this weekend if the weather is decent and temp. is warm enough. Anyways I am either going to cover the whole panel with the headliner material. Or replace the old seat color cloth part with headliner material. I am planing on using the old vinyl if I keep vinyl on it. I may dye it but it is pretty close to the leather seats color, unless I can find a dye closer I will just leave it. Which do you think I should do, I know its my car but all sounds good to me. Also considering maybe a embossed logo or something in the material.

EDIT: What about black on the panel, would it look like on the grey interior?

I would cover the whole door panel with the headliner stuff, the trim pieces will give it enough black to look good...and i would look for some black arm rests too. here's a pic of mine i covered the panels in speaker box carpeting (and all the interior plastcs as well, headliner, sunvisors etc... pics on my web page.

Yea I was thinking about buying some new black handles, or wraping them in black leather, I ended up with to many shades of grey in the interior. Im thinking about doing the bolsters in black also.

....i used black vinyl only on the upper portion (outlined by the metal trim). i think it goes well with the dash.

see a pic of mine on my post in interior board titled ..."subtle interior mods" or something like that.

be creative though, our door panels are flat and therefore quite simple to work on. good luck.
