if you just want to make a exact file of yours, you're in luck.
you can take off the clear plastic cover, and the metallic sheet that its printed on slides out..
then just go down to kinkos, or some other place with a scanner and scan it...
anyhoo, heres waht i have... no HVAC, but all the other gauges, and the shifter overlay:

Awesome mr. dude, question, if I were to use your files and make a different color scheme for my gauges would these go over the old ones? Or do I remove the old ones and put these in? Also, should I coat them in something, like laminate them? Thanks.

either way...
if you lay them over the old stock ones though, the light will only come thru where the light already comes thru... and it will be filtered yellow
i dont think id laminate them.... but mostly because of the look you get when you laminate things.
i wouldnt think it would be needed....

i bought a set of a guy here that had "jaws" in his id name..they were done on photopaper and they are nice...but cause i have ttops and from driving in the rain just the moisture everywere wrinkled and kind of warped the overlay...soo the thicker the photopaper the better or laminate them.

wait, so i could just take those files, print em out on some high quality photo paper and id be good to roll? I actually like the black face w/ white numbers compared to white face gauges. Ive heard that i need to lay translucent film behind the white. Also why wouldnt the light shine through the other parts of the overlay? If someone had pics of the instilation that would help tremendouly. Ive thinking about doing this while my car is up for the winter, but i dont want to dive right in until i know the whole deal.

i dont have pics of mine anymore got lost in the reformat.....do a search of my user name and the word "HVAC" im sure youll find the post where i bought the overlay from the guy here this time last yr. If not look for the jaws guy and email him. Like i said not sure if photopaper is the best maybe if you reenforce it glue something to the back of it. I only payed 10bucks for mine from the guy plus shipping i think,, also photo paper isnt cool to wipe with armorall (i forgot).

hey mr dude, could you post pics of the gauges in your car. I like the balck face w/ white numbers better as well. Just wanted to see them installed in a car.

i guess im just reluctant to do this because i dont see how the light will shine through only the whitle letters of the gauges. Maybe if you put it on plastic as mentioned before with clear nubers and lines, put white behind the clear (that might look cheap though ) and put a blue film behind them.... arg
CAN ANYONE HELP ME UNDERSTAND THIS?
If i keep the old face on there the yellow will shine out right?I think thats nasty so i def. dont want to go that direction.

if you just want white letters and black background like the stock 82-89 cars, you can slip their "face" under your stock clear plate...
