hatch alighnment problems, hinges too high???

I got a hatch of a '86 TA and I'm putting it on my '85 TA cause my old one was destroyed. The '86 hatch has the aerowing and third brake light high on top of the hatch. My '85 hatch had no light and the regular flat spoiler.

Can a '86 hatch be used on my '85?

We put it in the car and the hatch sits about 1/4 inch too high at the hinge area. It sits fine at the spoiler area. It is also 1/4 inch too short at the spoiler. It sits high enough to where I cant open the hatch casue it hits the roof.

Where the hinges meet the roof, its flat on my car. On my buddies '89 Formula, the hinges meet the roof at an angle. I think that angle( or my cars lack of) is causeing the problems.

Any ideas on how to fix??

Thanks,

Matt

!@%#*!@#!!!!!!
The hatch broke on me when trying to adjust it. Got glass everywhere in my car for a 2nd time. I'm gonna be finding glass for the rest of my life now.

Anyways I can get a hatch of a '91 or '92 Camaro RS. It has the third break light on the inside. Will this hatch fit on my car? Also, how do I switch spoilers? It has the 3 piece one, I want to put either the aerowing or the regular flat spoiler on it.

Thanks,

Matt

Yes it will fit... If you want the aerowing you have to use a hatch that originally came with the aerowing...

Why? Is it becuase of the sides, or is it not removable?

Well the hatch that has the aerowing was the one that just broke. The flat spoiler was in the accident and I am unsure on whether it is bent. I have to check tomarrow morning. Is there a way to just swap the glass?

Thanks,

Matt

Yeah because the sides have nothing to hold on to...
