i think it's cool that you want to do something different but unless your car looks like this i wouldn't. that's just me though, i like to see new things but i definately wouldn't want to ride in it.

That looks pretty slick. Where do you get the carpeting? And how much is it? How did you apply it?

i got it from a local place here called mills fleet farm, it was $1.88 a foot, i used 3M spray adhesive to glue it on. i also did all my plastic panels, door panels and stuff to match. pics on my web page (link in sig).

Chalk up another negative. Unless your going with a lowrider style or pimp of the year award, I'd avoid that idea lol. I don't think Snoop drives a 3rd gen.

I think people say its cool or alright for the sake of saying it...they may not want to offend you face to face. I know the workmanship of it is good and the time you spent on it is commendable...so in that sense its cool, but I don't have to see it in person to tell you that it looks tacky and no good.

Dave84Bird-
i like that speaker box carpeting alot. i have been wantin to do somethin like that.. but how much trouble would you say it is? i just dont want to get into anything too involved ( no time) rate the whole project.. (headliner, door panels, etc.) on a scale of 1-10 10 being a new motor, 1 being a bumper sticker. thanks

Once you have the board you just cut the fabric to shape leaving a few inches extra to overlap. If you don't have the board get one from a yard or I believe Classic Industries sells a brand new ABS plastic one uncovered for a little over $100. If not buy an covered one from Hawks for $140.

if you cut the material to shape and just leave extra to overlap, wont the inside corners be all bunchy? how do you avoid that? just pull it tight? the problem i have with mine is the cloth is in fine condition, but when its cold it droops. when its warm out, it looks and feels tight, no extra. but in the cold it dosent fit well. so i want to recover it, but dont want it to look ghetto

That being said - I wouldn't be caught dead in and/or around your car with that fuzzy headliner.

nah guys i'm gonna theme the car around the fur colors, light grey and dark grey/black. Gonna have two tone carpet, with thsoe two colors. Then i'm gonna get silver guages plates. All kinds of cool sutff, turst me guys you'll love the interior theme once i'm done.

I got a qupte on my custom two tone caret(longer threads than normal) and it was $325 for the whole car. Not too shabby if you ask me.

Your welcome,

Shane

P.S. Flirtin1 i have no idea what your problem with me it but deal with it!

yeah i did.. but im thinkin its gonna be a little different as far as showing wrinkles and poor fit with thin carpet than with snoop dog fur. no offense intended, it looks different.. but its not gonna show the fit as well as a fabric like the speaker box fabric will.. thats why i asked. dont take it personally man, i respect your taste.

That isn't snoop dogg fur...Snoop would use real chinchila fur =) As for using the speaker box carpeting, perhaps you can get some thin cotton batting to sandwich in between to allow some room for error.

If you don't know by now you never will even though you have had about 100 people tell you what the problem is, and go out of their way to help you with it so I guess I will waste space also

Edit: I am glad you stay true to form you have now covered everything I told you to put in your sig:

"don't bother answering any of my questions because I really don't want to hear your opinion I just want to talk about my fur, girlfriend and prove that I just don’t want any help"

That belongs in a 1974 Couple DeVille with gold trim and an airbrushed image of Tupac Shakur on the hood.

"d00d", I would imagine your friend's reaction is similar to the response the handicapped kid recieved when he asked if "riding the short bus is cool?". Of course it's not cool, but how can you bring yourself to tell the retarded kid that?
