Hawks's quality

They really have a lot of stuff my car needs (simple things like new sun visor, fuse box door, etc). I noticed some say new, some reconditioned. Anyone here have experience with the reconditioning that they do (I assume they are the ones that do it)?

Also, on the parts that they have listed "new", but GM tells me they no longer make - how does that happen?

Oh ok. The old guy at Scoggin Dickey told me the other day that there are no companies out there that make replacement aftermarket 3rd gen parts (like fenders, seats, dashes, door panels, etc) since there is no demand for it. He said on the other hand, if he wanted parts for his 2nd generation camaro, he could get them anywhere.

I had a feeling he was 'in, but had to make sure anyway.

Yeah, it was probally the same guy at SDPC who told me after i spent over $4K with his company that he did not know what kind of springs were in the fastburn heads and that i should buy the whole kit. So i dropped another $500 on the whole LT4 Hot cam kit when all i needed were the roller rockers and cam. It's tuff to do, but you really can not believe what everyone tells you over the phone. Kinda rediculous when they represent a major company, but what can you do. Bruce over at Hawks is pretty damn good. He's helped me out in the past. I would give him my business again. good luck

The "New" parts may be "NOS" which is "New Old Stock". These are original parts that have just been around since they were new. They may have bought them from a dealer or gotten them from other sources. Give Bruce a call about what he has/you need, he's very good to work with.
Larry.
