I'm assuming you mean just the black **** correct? Not the whole silver rod thing?

I know the 2 pieces come together from GM, but the **** has a little metal clip that holds it onto the metal rod. If the lights are working fine, don't mess with replacing anything but the black ****. From looking at the new piece, you should be able to figure it out. I just depressed the clip with a mini flathead screwdriver, and pulled it right off. doesn't take more than 10 seconds to swap!!!

To remove the **** and shaft you have to get a finger on the rear top of the headlight switch and push in on a little button that latches on the end of the shaft. Real hard to get to unless you have the speedometer out. Man, some of those free parts would go for real money on Ebay. Hard to find some of that stuff with the lettering still readablem
