Rust holes in spare tire well

Rust holes in spare tire well

I have a couple of 3/4" holes in the well
where the spare tire is stored.
Any ideas for a "quick fix"?

weld in a patch, just a spare piece of metal.

just cut out the old rusted metal and weld in a nice piece then use either rustolenm or POR15 to cover the metal to keep from rustin any more
