Progress on my Camaro

Ok, just thought I'd post this picture of my Camaro. The one shown is actually before I sanded the high build primer. Currently I now have the high build sanded, and I will probably start painting it next week. All the other parts have been now primed (bumpers, GFX, spoiler, etc. etc. ) It'll be done in the original black, but I'll be adding gold stripes. though I'm still pondering between heritage stripes. or a custom modification of those. Thus far I have taken 60 pictures of the whole progress. When it is completely done I'll be posting a page for those who will want to check it out.

I really like the stripe design, but if it was my car i prolly wouldn't use yellow.

My uncle has a mint 78k 86 z28 with the black paint/gold gfx and it looks awesome. I would go that route.

Did you just feel like repainting it or did it need repainted/rust/dings?

Progress looks sweet

The stripe actually would not be yellow.. the color I have picked out is more like a bright 24 k gold.. it looks really nice. The paint was getting pretty chipped, and there was some dents to fix.. for going in local car shows it needed some work. At the current stage and time frame left.. I think I'll have to stay with regular heritage stripes.. I gotta try and get it on the road byt the end of next week. could be hard though...

Ok here is a shot of the car in the spray booth. This is the first time I have ever masked and painted a car. But I think I did quite well. More pictures will follow once I get it all back together. This is Picture #84 of the whole process I've done on my car. I made the pin stripe around the main one an 1/8th inch wide. Looks really good. I used BASF as my paint system. Stripes are code MY052.20

I almost have it back together.. I should have a gallery of pictures ready by the weekend. I did my car at school. 1st year Autobody repair & refinishing at the local college. I didn't want the Camaro to be my first car.. but it just ended up being that way.. Over the next while I'll be doing some spot touch ups, and polishing. But over all it did turn out good. The stripes are only on the hood and rear deck lid/spoiler. What you see to the left around the roof is actually the spoiler in the corner of the booth.

Not high school. It's a University College. None of the High schools here actually have a body shop class either.

Take your time to buff out the orange peel look in the clear coat. It could look like a black mirror
