Yet another hatch pull down unit question
Yes, I did use search
My question is a simple one: My friend shoved down on the rear hatch as the motor was lowering the trunk and I'm pretty sure the gear nut thing stripped out (motor running but no movement). So, is it a fairly simple process to disassemble the motor to replace the gear nut on '92s? Just want to make sure I'm not getting myself in over my head before i pull the assembly out. Thanks for the help.

The gear isn't stripped (it will strip though if you let it continually run), the motor housing broke. Mine did that 2 days ago so I gutted the motor and wiring and welded the rails together and now it's a manual hatch.
